Joan A. Zientek

Joan Zientek is a marital and family therapist. While semi-retired, she has maintained a small private practice in Oakbrook, Illinois. She spends time volunteering and is currently on the board of a local charity. Previously Joan has also been a consultant to many school districts and service organizations in and around Chicago as well as nationally. During that time she has conducted seminars on various family and human-relations topics and developed and taught a social skills training program on emotional intelligence called FOCUS ON EQ.

As a former teacher, Joan has taught on the elementary, high school, and university levels. Joan received an M.A. in education from Saint Xavier University, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in educational psychology from the University of Chicago. She is a graduate of the Family Institute, Institute of Psychiatry, of Northwestern Memorial Hospital Medical school.
