Teshia Stovall Dula, Ed.S., began her career in 1995 as an Instructional Assistant for preschool and elementary school children. In 1998, she began working as a Professional School Counselor, and she is certified in PK-12 school counseling. Currently, she lives and works in Gwinnett County, Georgia, the most extensive school system in Georgia, with over 180,000 students. Gwinnett is the 14th largest school district in the United States of America. In addition to working as a school counselor, she works as an adjunct professor for Grand Canyon University!
Teshia Dula is a proud two-time graduate of Hampton University, where she received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree. In 2014, she received her Specialist from Liberty University and is currently pursuing her doctorate.
Teshia Dula is a leader in her district and often presents staff development for conferences and the county counseling department. The American School Counseling Association chose her to be a Finalist for the 2022 ASCA Counselor of The Year. She has been honored as the 2020 Georgia School Counselor of the Year and The Middle School Counselor of The Year for Gwinnett County Public Schools. Her first published book, STEAM for The School Counselor, won the Gwinnett County Public School’s Counseling Writer’s Award in 2018 and The Georgia School Counseling Association’s Writer’s Award in 2018. Mrs. Dula’s second book, More STEAM for The School Counselor, debuted in April 2021. She believes that children learn best through play and hands-on experiences! Outside of work hours, she has been an Assistant Cheerleading Coach, a Girls on The Run Coach, a Peer Leader Co-Sponsor, and a presenter for middle school girls at different workshops!
Teshia Dula is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, The Junior League of Gwinnett and North Fulton, PAGE, GSCA, ASCA, and ACA. She enjoys Jazzercise, reading, writing, and playing! She is married to Michael, a fun Physical Therapist, and she is the proud Mom to Michael “Harrison,” Nathaniel, and Alyssa.
