Teach Kids a 3-Step Plan to Manage Anxiety and Worry

Do you know a child who struggles with worry? Is fear holding them back from being the best they can be?

In A.B.C. Worry Free, author and neuroeducation consultant Noel Foy has developed an actionable approach to worry that will help children process everyday challenges and work through them.

“You’d be surprised what you can teach someone with the right attitude.”

“Do you think you could teach someone to worry less?”

Chris chuckled. “Absolutely. As long as they’re not afraid to learn something new.”

With anxiety among children at double-digit growth, adults are looking for tools children can adopt into their daily practice to manage those feelings. Using a clear three-step plan to shift their perspective on anxious or fearful thoughts, children can regain control over the vicious anxiety cycle. A special section for adults provides evidence-based tips for helping children develop the skills necessary to face and overcome worries and fears.

Noel Foy

Noel Foy is a mom, grandmother, former teacher, and learning specialist who evolved into a neuroeducational consultant, anxiety/executive function coach, and author.

Commonly known as Neuro Noel, she transforms neuroscience findings into practical applications to reduce the impact of stress on learning and appeal to how the brain learns best. Traditional teaching practices often omit this critical focus and fall short of meeting the needs of many students, resulting in gaps in learning and executive function and an increase in behavioral issues or not reaching one’s true potential.

Via workshops, one-on-one coaching, author visits, and speaking engagements, Noel equips schools, families, and professionals with a toolbox of practical language, responses, and applications that lower stress and build underdeveloped skills sets and mindsets needed to maximize success and experience life-changing outcomes.

Additionally, Noel finds storytelling an approachable and playful way to tackle complex topics. Her books encourage productive change and the will to face fears through courage and friendship.

ABC Worry Free holds a very important self regulation strategy for kids and presents it in kid friendly language. Along with adorable illustrations, this book send a powerful message. I love the author’s mission to help children process and work through anxiety in every day situations. Her experience as a former teacher and neuroeducation consultant shows. As an elementary teacher myself, I see worry and anxiety run rampant in my classroom with very young students. Kids need to be taught how to regulate these feelings, and ABC Worry Free is a perfect tool for that! My students were engaged the whole time I was reading it, and I’ve seen students using the ABC strategy effectively many times since. This book is a MUST HAVE for teachers and parents alike.
